Fluorescent liposomes are a new type of fluorescent markers by unilamellar liposomes encapsulated and surface-immobilized fluorophores to image flow profiles in microfabricated structures. The liposomes were produced with phospholipids and cholesterol by extrusion through a polycarbonate membrane.
